Kids Take Charge Of Christmas Gifts At 13th Annual Whimsical Children’s Store

Kids are taking over for Santa at the 13th annual Whimsical Children’s Store.

This Saturday they can pick out a gift for mom, dad or any family member.

Every item that’s been donated only costs $5.

Head Volunteer Michael Graves says they use the event as a fundraiser.

“We raise over $1,500 every year for The Ark, and admission is a donation to the Food Bank.”

The Ark is the Lunenburg County Association For The Specially Challenged.

Every item in the store comes from donations they’ve collected year-round.

Graves says the event is aimed at creating the Christmas morning energy and memories.

“The hope is that everybody is excited because the child is giving a gift for the first time that only he or she knows what it is,” he says.

“And the parents are excited because they don’t know what they’re going to get.”

The Store is open at the Bridgewater Michelin Social Club from 10 until 2.
