There’s less than a week to go until the country converges on St. FX University in Antigonish for the 2018 Canadian Special Olympic Summer Games.
And starting this Friday (July 27th, 2018) Law Enforcement Members will carry the Flame of Hope into communities around the province.
Scott Feener, Acting Police Chief for the Town of Bridgewater, says the Flame of Hope will pass through the South Shore this weekend.
“They’re actually running here in Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon, making their way from Liverpool to the south Shore on the way to the city,” says Feener. “The will be running here in Bridgewater just as a promotion Saturday afternoon basically starting at the Bridgewater Mall and running up across the Veterans Bridge and ending in the King Street area.”
The Law Enforcement Torch Run will also make stops at Meteghan Wharf, Yarmouth Ferry, Liverpool and Lunenburg this Saturday.
The 2018 Special Olympic Summer Games run July 31st through August 4th at St. FX University on Antigonish, NS.

10:15am Yarmouth Ferry
12:30pm Liverpool Tourist Bureau
1:35pm Bridgewater, Pijinuiskaq Park
2:00pm Bridgewater, Michelin
3:00pm Lunenburg, Atlantic Fisheries Museum
