Library Gets Into The Match Making Business

If you’re flying solo this Valentine’s Day South Shore Public Library wants to set you up on a blind date…with a book.

Deputy Chief Librarian Jeff Mercer says they’ve wrapped several novels with brown paper with nothing but a brief description written on the back.

He says it’s a great way to discover something new.

“You might find something that you really like but you’d never pick up because ‘I don’t read romances’ or ‘I don’t look at books with dragons and swords on the cover’ but maybe you’re missing out on something amazing you just have to get past that preconceived notion.”

Mercer says you don’t have to be single to enjoy the surprise.

But the blind dates are only available until the end of Valentines.
