Bridgewater is one of four Nova Scotia communities being recognized by the Lieutenant Governor. The annual award handed out by J.J. Grant is given to communities demonstrating exemplary civic and community spirit in the last year. Bridgewater was recently named the best place in Atlantic Canada to raise a family. It is also home to several small projects like the community garden, the annual Community Christmas Dinner, and the opening of the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre. Also receiving the award are Sackville, Amherst and St. Peter’s, Richmond County. The Lieutenant Governor will present the four communities with an original piece of Nova Scotian Crystal at a ceremony later this year.
