Moncton Police Shooter Arrested

A massive police manhunt in Moncton came to an end early Friday morning when police arrested 24 year old Justin Bourque who was wanted in the shooting deaths of three RCMP officers and wounding of two others. Bourque was arrested, still dressed in camoflage fatigues, shortly after midnight in the pouring rain. Michelle Thibodeau says the arrest happened in her backyard where Bourque was hiding among a couple of rows of trees and she heard the suspect say “I’m done” after police ordered him to come out with his hands up. There’s no word yet on what prompted them to coverge in that part of the subdivision which earlier had been cordoned off. One of the RCMP officers who was killed has been identifed as David Ross, originally from Quebec, who worked as a dog handler. He was the father of a 19 month old child and his widow is expecting another child. RCMP Assistant Comissioner Roger Brown says another of the slain officers was also a father with three children.
