The Old Town Hall in Liverpool has a new name.
Region of Queens council has chosen Town Hall Arts and Cultural Centre.
A contest, which was held between June 24 and August 31, brought in 40 suggestions.
Mayor Christopher Clarke says the new name says it all.
“The town hall is a heritage building, so the name recognizes that and there certainly is a move to establish it as an arts and cultural centre.”
The name takes effect right away for the 113 year-old building.
Loretta Cook of Liverpool received a $100 gift card for submitting the winning name.
