History will be on display this weekend in Liverpool.
Privateer Days opens Friday and lasts until late Sunday evening.
The festival features canoe races on the Mersey River, a woodsman challenge with Darren Hudson and an invasion of pirates.
Executive Director, Brian Fralic, says Privateer Days really brings the community together.
“It’s one weekend where everybody is in the mood to celebrate history and community. It’s wonderful to see and we’re so happy that everyone celebrates it along with us.”
Fralic expects this year to be one of the best following a partnership with the South Shore Multicultural Association.
It will add events like belly dancing, a Mi’kmaw culture and spirituality presentation along with different genres of music.
