A cafe in downtown Liverpool has decided to close its doors after only eight months.
The Dancing Chicken Cafe and Local Grocer is shutting down on December 23.
Co-owner Rick Conrad says it was a difficult decision to make with the other co-owner, Peter Leslie.
Conrad says the eatery wasn’t attracting enough people to support it.
“We were really happy to meet some really great people down here and we have some wonderful regulars, just didn’t have enough of them obviously. And for a business like ours, you need bums in seats.”
Conrad says they were trying to offer something different in Liverpool, using roughly 40 local suppliers for their food and beverages.
He says this was the first time the two men have run a business together.
It opened on Main Street on April 26, 2016.
Conrad says they will honour all gift certificates until they close.
He asks people to contact either himself or Peter directly if you can’t get to the cafe by December 23.
Conrad expects they will take some time and decide their next steps.
