The Yarmouth Curling Club is hosting a major event this weekend.
The Nova Scotia Curling Association’s Under-15 boys and girls greenspiel gets underway Friday morning at 9:30.
Organizer Aaron Sweeney says there is a wide variety of experience on the teams.
“There are a couple of teams, for instance, on the guy’s side, that are very experienced playing playing together, which sounds strange when you’re still under 15, however, they played even at the Under-21 level. Last year’s defending champion and runner-up are still here. There’s going to be some tough competition here.”
Bridgewater will be represented on the girls side by skip Emily Wentzell and teammates Taryn Robbins, Abby Slauenwhite and Sierra Whynot.
On the boys side, Jason Smith, Oscar Larkins, Ky Comstock and Owen Nauss will represent Lunenburg while Riley Mulock and Jacob Conrad are listed as a team from Liverpool.
The event runs until Sunday afternoon.
