A paramedic from Queens County has been recognized for his long-standing service.
Michael Morton of Mill Village was one of 14 people honoured recently at Government House in Halifax.
He received an exemplary services medal from the province’s Lieutenant Governor.
It is given to paramedics, police, firefighters, coast guard members and corrections officers who have provided high quality service for at least 20 years.
The medal was created in 1994, part of a national program to recognize people in high-risk jobs that enhance Canada’s public safety.
