Lumberjacks Edge Bearcats, Force Game 7

The South Shore Lumberjacks have forced a seventh and deciding game against the Truro Bearcats.

Brandon Syms and Josh Shatford scored first period goals as the ‘Jacks edged Truro 2-1 last night in Bridgewater.

With the win, the series is tied 3-3.

Head Coach and General Manager, Brad Muise, says the team will enjoy the win and prepare themselves for game seven.

“It feels good. The crowd was into it, it was an electric atmosphere and the guys were feeding off of that and it meant a lot to us. Basically now, you throw out these first six games and it’s one game, winner take all.”

Over 1,200 people attended the game at the Clearwater Seafoods Arena in the LCLC.

Denver Lynds scored the lone goal for the Bearcats, who went 0 for 5 on the powerplay.

The Lumberjacks finished 0 for 2 with the man advantage.

Adrian Clark stopped 25 shots for the win.

Game seven is set for Wednesday night at 7 p.m in Truro.

In other MHL playoff action, the Pictou County Weeks Crushers advanced to the Eastlink South Division final with a 5-1 win over the visiting Valley Wildcats.

The Crushers took the best of seven series 4-2.

Meantime, Dieppe forced a seventh game in their North Division series by edging Woodstock 3-2.
