Lunenburg Celebrates Anniversary

There will be a whole lot of celebrating going on this weekend in Lunenburg. Its the town’s 261st anniversary combined with the kick-off of the tourism season. Lunenburg’s Recreation Director Robin Scott says the annual celebration is a favourite among tourists and locals. He says: “Lunenburg is a destination point for a lot of people. Whenever there’s activity on on the weekend, its an excuse to come down to Lunenburg to stroll around and take in the anviance of the town and soak up the atmosphere, the good restaurants and that sort of thing.” Events are planned for all the favorite tourism haunts in the town including the Fisheries Museum, the Dory Shop and the Captain Angus Walters House. A list of the events is on the Town of Lunenburg website.
