A school that teaches English as an additional language is expanding its classes.
The Nova Scotia government providing New Voice Language Academy in Lunenburg $62,000.
Academic Director Nicola Sattler says it will help immigrants on their path to success.
“It’s really wonderful to have the opportunity to extend our services above and beyond our regular student body to the immigrant community because that’s where we can make a difference locally.”
About 35 full-time and outreach students use the academy, most of them to learn English.
Other languages are taught including German, Spanish and Chinese.
Sattler expects they could reach a full capacity of 80 students within two years.
She says they will recruit or connect with agents to bring people to their school.
