Performance space is at a premium in Lunenburg.
The Opera House closed earlier this year and a number of arts organizations are raising concerns around how they will be able to present their work.
Mayor Rachel Bailey says the problem came to the fore with the closure of the Pearl Theatre in January 2016.
“We are having conversations with a couple of the organizations. The Lunenburg Foundation for the Arts is looking to spearhead some of those formal discussions and that’s to happen early in the new year.”
The group hopes to develop a cultural strategy for Lunenburg.
“The town is very interested in being a part of that conversation and seeing what that means for all of the various festivals and events and performances that happen in the community now.”
Bailey feels the town offers a number of different venues.
And the solution could be found in determining how those spaces are put to use.
