CAA Offers Safe Winter And Holiday Travel Tips

CAA is reminding drivers to be safe this winter.

Gary Howard with CAA Atlantic says people need to be ready, especially for Holiday travel.

“Going to and from grandma’s place involves several days, so we like people to be prepared and be safe on the road.”

He says each driver has to be aware they aren’t the only ones on the road.

“We refer to it as the great Canadian memory loss,” he says.

“The first snowfall that we have, it seems people have forgotten what it’s like to drive in the winter conditions and they don’t adapt their driving habits.”

He says drivers should pack a winter car kit so the essentials are close at hand if you need them.

Howard also reminds motorists to bring their vehicle in for regular maintenance and make sure phones are completely charged.

Here’s a full list of winter safety and travel tips from the CAA.
