Lunenburg Teacher Recognized

A teacher from Lunenburg is being recognized.

The Nova Scotia Teachers Union has announced the winners of their Teachers Make a Difference Campaign this morning.

Stephanie Hunt, an English teacher at Bluenose Academy, is one of 10 teachers selected from across the province.

She says, for her, becoming a teacher was an easy choice.

“I have always wanted to be a teacher,” she says. “I literally would line up my cabbage patch kids and dolls on my bed and teach them lessons on my little black board that my dad made for me.”

She says she hasn’t been allowed to read the actual nomination yet, but hopes to in the coming weeks.

The winners were selected from more than 300 nominations.
