The Town of Lunenburg’s zamboni is nearing 30 years old and is in dire need of replacing.
The ice surfacing machine was purchased new back in 1988.
Recreation Director, Robin Scott says it’s essential to the successful running of the arena and a replacement will be costly.
“Which is in excess of $100,000. So, it’s quite an expensive piece of apparatus,” said Scott.
Scott says planning needs to begin with groups who use the arena to raise enough money.
It will likely be a couple of years before the town is ready to buy a new ice resurfacer.
