Lunenburg To Welcome New Residents

The town of Lunenburg will once again be extending a warm welcome to its newest residents.

This is the fifth year the town has hosted their Newcomer Reception.

Mayor Rachel Bailey says the aim is to familiarize them with the people who serve the town and show how quickly newcomers will become part of life in Lunenburg.

“I think three of the committee members on our welcome committee now, are recent newcomers. So they’re people that attended the event and wanted to be a part of welcoming other new people to the community.”

Bailey says there will be a social aspect where people can mingle and enjoy snacks as well as an informal information session.

“We want to have an opportunity to have a reception and face to face conversation and to be introduced to people that are new to the area.”

The reception gets underway at town hall beginning at 7:00pm Thursday night.
