A group of kids in Lunenburg county is learning skate.
Around 35 grade four students from Bayview Community School in Mahone Bay got a chance to hit the ice at the LCLC.
Nine-year-old Tara Lantz was one of them.
She says she was a little nervous.
“…because there are hockey players there as well,” she says. “I don’t really know how to skate, so I’m bad at skating. The hockey players are good.”
Lantz says she hopes to get good enough to play hockey herself one day.
The equipment and ice time were donated as part of the Learn to Skate program.
The program is put on in advance of the World Sledge Hockey Challenge coming in January.
