A well-known retail company with originating roots on the South Shore has closed one of its stores in Halifax.
A representative from the Mahone Bay Trading Company told our newsroom as of February 22, they have permanently closed their retail location on Young Street in the city’s north end.
The move to shutter one of their stores was a direct result of COVID-19.
The Young Street location had been open for five years and the move impacts three employees.
The company still has its stores in Bayers Lake and its flagship location in Mahone Bay.
Mahone Bay Trading Company started as a variety store selling everything from hardware to housewares and shoes.
They have transformed the business to exclusively sell quality footwear.
