Man Faces Multiple Charges After Refusing To Stop For Police In Kings, Lunenburg Counties

A 42 year-old man from Halifax faces a dozen charges after refusing to stop for police in two counties.

Kings RCMP responded to an assault complaint in Waterville around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police attempted to stop the suspect’s truck but he refused.

Later that afternoon, Lunenburg District RCMP tried to stop the vehicle on Highway 103 near Mahone Bay and on Highway 3 in Western Shore, but again the suspect didn’t comply.

RCMP and police dog service located the suspect on an ATV trail around 6:15 p.m. in the Gold River area where he was arrested without incident.

The charges include:

· Two counts of Assault

· Dangerous operation of motor vehicle

· Two counts of Uttering threats

· Three counts of Failure to comply with an undertaking

· Failure to stop for police

· Mischief

· Driving while license suspended

· Driving without liability insurance

He is currently in police custody and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court later today.
