The Yarmouth Mariners doubled the South Shore Lumberjacks 4-2 Sunday evening to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven MHL Eastlink South Division Final.
Riley Gill and Christian Tsukamoto scored for the ‘Jacks while Ty Grant made 32 saves in the loss.
The teams were tied at two after 40 minutes of play before the Mariners pulled ahead late in the third period.
Yarmouth forward Landon Quinney says it’s a huge win for the club.
“We felt it was important to get Game 5, especially after Game 4, you know we let it get away, so to come out 3-2 is huge heading on the road,” says Quinney.
“You know, we get two chances at them, hopefully end it next game but just to have that two game cushion will be nice.”
Game 6 is Tuesday night in Bridgewater.
