MODL’s active living survey closes Friday

Time is running out to help shape a new active living strategy for residents living in rural parts of Lunenburg county.

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is in the process of reviewing and refreshing its active transportation strategy and the results will help decision making going forward.

Active transportation is getting around using human power whether you are walking, cycling, wheeling or skateboarding.

MODL’s Active Living Coordinator, Karen Geddes-Smith says it’s the first refresh since 2014.

“We have wonderful facilities, and we want to hear what are the supports people need to use our facilities and be more active wherever they are,” Geddes-Smith said in an interview with our newsroom. “It will give us direction and especially during COVID, we have so many people being active outdoors, it’s a great time to hear from people.”

The survey can pick picked up at the municipal office in Cookville or is available online until the end of the day on Friday.

The process is expected to be completed by the fall of 2021.
