The Warden for the Municipality of Chester is proud of the budget approved late last week.
Allen Webber says they were able to invest in many strategic priorities without raising taxes.
He says the budget process is never easy but he’s pleased with what they’ve come up with.
“We’ve given staff the resources they need to accomplish the goals that council has set,” he says. “Now assuming those are similar to what the public wants then we’re doing what we set out to do.”
The total budget comes out to just under $28.4-million with another $8-million going to capital projects.
Some big ticket items include $1.45-million for Mill Cove sewer upgrades and $300,000 for land acquisitions.
