Mustangs Meet McDonalds in Major Midget Playoffs

The UPS Store South Shore Mustangs and Halifax McDonalds are ready to face-off in the opening round of the major midget hockey playoffs.

Both teams are coming off a three week layoff following the end of the regular season and the start of the Canada Winter Games.

Halifax won all four games over South Shore in the regular season with three of them coming by one goal.

Mustangs Head Coach Brogan Bailey says he expects a tough test.

But he feels his team is confident they can challenge the second-ranked McDonalds.

“Those one goal games were all very good games and I think we even left the cup on the table in some of them,” says Bailey.

“Even our last game we played, there were opportunities for us in the second period with power plays and special teams to take control of the game and we just let it slip away.”

Game one goes Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Halifax Forum.
