Mustangs Search For New Head Coach After Brown Resigns

The Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs are in the market for a new head coach.

Andrew Brown has resigned after the Mustangs were swept out of the playoffs in four straight games.

Brown believes there were too many problems with the club during the final few months of the season.

“We had some internal stuff that was going on that was a distraction to our team. I’m very confident that 75% of players are glad the season is over.”

Brown says a challenging year recruiting players and traveling from Halifax to Bridgewater multiple times a week took its toll.

“Players being disrespectful to the coaching staff as well as their own teammates. Unrealistic expectations is huge. People thought you could make gold out of something that had no chance of being gold.”

Brown spent two years behind the bench for the Mustangs, guiding the South Shore club to 17 wins and 53 losses in regulation.

Despite the struggles, Brown thanked the Mustangs executive board for the opportunity and believes the club could compete next year by hiring a coach who can recruit local kids to play major midget.

He expects to take some time to decide the next steps in his coaching career.
