New Access NS Facility Opens In Bridgewater

The new Access Nova Scotia in Bridgewater has officially opened their doors.

They only moved about 100 meters to a new space right across the street on Logan Road.

The roughly 8,000 square foot building now houses Service Nova Scotia, the land registration office, and the Department of Environment.

Lunenburg West MLA Mark Furey says the move made financial sense.

“When you look at the total square footage,” he says, “and combining the three previous spaces that were occupied, it realizes us about $200,000 a year.”

Access Nova Scotia has hired two new people bringing them to about 25 employees.

Changes could be coming for the service.

The province is looking at the possiblility of an alternative service delivery model.

Fuery says they’re still exloring the idea, but he hopes to be able to talk about next steps before the end of winter.
