New Hire To Help Chester Municipality Meet Their Own Expectations

Chester Municipality now has more help to complete their long term goals.

They’ve hired Jonathan Meakin as Strategic Initiatives Coordinator.

He’ll be responsible for following through on priorities set by council such as shared service agreements and economic development.

CAO Tammy Wilson says the new position will take pressure off municipal staff.

“Our existing staff are busy doing day-to-day. Not much time is left to do some of these strategic projects. So it’s that resource support to do the research, the analysis, and bring forth proposals for council to consider in terms of these projects.”

Wilson says the municipality is serious about achieving their goals.

“We’re very ambitious in terms of what we want to see done. That’s a good thing, but at the same time it takes the resources to provide the support in order for us to be successful in getting them done.”

Meakin will use his fifteen years of related experience to support the stability and growth in the community.
