A pleasant autumn walk or run could help women in Lunenburg County reach their full potential.
Second Story Women’s Centre is hosting their third annual Family Fun Walk/Run.
Entrants can make either the two or five kilometre trek on Lunenburg’s rail trail.
Executive Director Rhonda Lemire says they want the community to come out and enjoy themselves.
“It is not a Boston Marathon qualifier. I’ll say that. It is absolutely for fun and it will be a fun social activity.”
While the event is a fundraiser for Second Story, Lemire also wants people to enjoy themselves.
“If you’re not able to financially donate, that’s okay. We would rather see more people come out and engage in some fun community activity. That’s really our main goal.”
The event begins 10 am Saturday at Second Story Women’s Centre, in the old train station in Lunenburg.
