New Playground Could Help Solve Bigger Problems

A 250-thousand dollar skate park is almost ready to be built in Shelburne County.

The town of Shelburne received an anonymous donation to build the playground last year.

Community Development Manager, Darren Shupe says it will be a real asset to the community.

“As we look to try to stem population loss,” he says, “the major feature attracting people to live in an area is having these types of amenities for families.”

The design includes a skate park, a traditional playground, and a splash pool.

The yet to be revealed donor will get to choose the name once it’s complete.

Shupe says they hope to break ground next month.
