NSCC Lunenburg Campus Getting A New Back To School Look

Summer is winding down and schools are ramping back up.

While summer does quiet down, NSCC Lunenburg Campus Principal Craig Collins says there has been a lot of activity this year.

“The summer months are precious time for us. That’s when we do a lot of our upkeep of our facility, of our buildings, of our classrooms. We do some renovations.”

He says people travelling past the campus will also have noticed the new curtain wall project going up around the outside of the college.

The aim is to increase the energy efficiency of the building.

Collins says it will also bring the look of the school in line with others around the province.

“The project itself doesn’t have to be completed until April of 2018. But we’ve really put a hard push to get a large component of this work done before the end of September.”

Collins doesn’t expect construction will be an issue when students return.

And he says the project is on target to finish by April 2018.
