Nova Scotians now know what they’ll be paying for recreational pot when it becomes legal Wednesday.
The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation revealed three levels of pricing per gram.
A ‘value’ gram or flower will range between $6.33 to $8.49.
The middle range or ‘core’ category goes up to $11 a gram and ‘premium’ is anything above that.
“We are pleased to offer a safe and secure supply of recreational cannabis to our customers at a variety of price points that we feel are competitive and reasonable,” said Dave DiPersio, NSLC’s Senior VP and Chief Services Officer in a news release.
NSLC says they will have pre-rolls and accessories available at a variety of prices when stores open on the 17th.
However oil and seeds won’t be stocked until a later date.
The corporation is also warning that there will likely be a shortage of cannabis due to strains on the existing cannabis suppliers.
NSLC has looked to bring in around 300 products representing 78 strains of cannabis.
They will offer 97 products representing 52 strains upon opening Wednesday.
Based on estimates, they project they’ll have a three week supply of cannabis on hand this week.
“The supply challenges are being experienced nation wide and are not exclusive to Nova Scotia,” reads the release.
