Anne Margaret Murraywas born in 1935, in West Branch, Pictou County. She had many fond memories of growing up on the farm and ofthe one-room schoolhouse where she was a student and eventually a teacher. In the meantime, she met a serviceman, Oscar Gullikson, who liked her so much he got himself stationed at the same base in Baden-Baden. They lived in Germany for five years, marrying and having their first child there before returningto Canada.

Anne and Oscar settled in Bridgewater with their two children, after Oscar retired from the military. Anne spent many years volunteering at Bridgewater’s elementary and high schools, the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank, and the Bridgewater United Church. She was known for her easy laugh and her great hugs and loved walking on the beach.

Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her four brothers, Bill, Jack, Ken, and George; her husband, Oscar; and many dear friends. She is survived by her son, Jamie (Rachel Handley); daughter, Shelley (Geoff McBride); two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
