Eldon was a kind soul who loved being outdoors and found a lot of enjoyment in nature. He loved spending time in his garden, tending to his farm animals and working at the firewood. He loved to watch the birds and anything nature had to share with him. Eldon had a love for music both to sing or just to sit back and listen, he could always be found with a radio playing close by. Above all Eldon always cherished time with his family who were the cornerstone of his life. He brought so much joy to those around him with his cheerful personality, sense of humour and his love to tease.
Eldon had a big heart for people. He began his working career as a CNA at the Nova Scotia Hospital and then went on to be a supervisor at High Liner Foods, he always viewed his coworkers as extended family. Eldon was a member of the LaHave & District Fire Department filling the role as fire chief during part of his time with the department. He was also a committed member of the Anglican Church parish in West Dublin. Eldon was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it.
Our family wish to extend a most heartfelt thank you to Daniel Deveau and all the staff at Shoreham Village for the exceptional care provided to Eldon during his time there. You will always be considered our extended family and there is no “thank you” big enough.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery West Dublin. Donations in Eldon’s memory may be made to the Shoreham Village Nursing Home Recreation Department or LaHave Coastal Conservation Association.
In honour of Eldon, we ask you to share a laugh with someone or simply enjoy a quiet moment with nature.
