Online Petition Launched After Killing Of Gorilla Sparks Outrage

There’s continued mixed reaction to a decision to kill a 17 year old gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo.

The gorilla was put down, after a 4 year old boy climbed through a public barrier into the gorilla’s enclosure.

The Zoo says their security team reacted quickly to save the child’s life.

The child was taken to hospital and has now been released.

The decision to kill the gorilla has sparked outrage online. Some have suggested that the parents should be held criminally responsible. An online petition was launched, seeking justice for the gorilla, and thousands have signed the petition.

Others have said the parents are not to blame, and that the Zoo took the proper steps to save the life of the little boy.
