Over $600,000 Up For Grabs In Shelburne Chase The Ace

A half a million dollars has been left on the table as the ace continues to elude Shelburne county.

Four cards now remain in the River Hills Golf and Country Club Chase the Ace draw.

Don McCumber of Yarmouth won almost $49,000 after drawing the three of diamonds after close to 255,000 tickets were sold.

Chairperson Lisa O’Connoll says they never expected to be in the situation to hand out that kind of money.

“We were hoping to make our two hundred dollars back that our board allowed us to have to start this.”

O’Connoll says the support from the community has been outstanding.

“Everybody is very excited. The whole community is involved. We probably have close to a hundred volunteers. The excitement is awesome.”

The next draw won’t be held until September 23.

At that point, the winner will have a one in four chance of winning the estimated $610,000 jackpot.
