After The Bell aims to increase physical activity in 12-15 year-olds.
The Active Alive program at the Lunenburg Community Centre received $10,000.
Program Coordinator Kelly George says it fills the gap for kids who may not be on sports teams at school.
“I’ve had children come who aren’t necessarily the most active person in school or on the extra curricular teams or going to Pro Kids for extra sport activity,” said George.
Active Alive is a free after-school program for kids and parents.
George says the funding means the program can continue for at least another year.
After the Bell programs in Chester, New Ross, New Germany, Aspotogan, Newcombville and West Northfield also received funding.
