High-speed internet is slowly coming to rural Nova Scotia.
Government is asking for proposals from municipalities and wants information from service providers.
From this, a detailed plan will be developed by a panel of experts.
A budget of $6 million has been allocated for 2016-2017 to improve rural high-speed internet.

Government commissioned a study on the subject.
It says many technologies, as well investment will be required to bring high-speed internet to the rural areas.
As well, cooperation between community groups, the private sector and all levels of government is needed to make rural high-speed internet a reality.
