A Lunenburg County Rails to Trails group is moving ahead with expanding its trail system.
The LaHave River Trail Association’s Chair Helen Ferns says recently-aquired provincial funding will help join a missing link on the line at Wentzell Lake.
“At the moment, we have a small piece that we’re developing from the Cookville Park to the Rhodenizer Road. Then, we still have the connection to the Salmon Run Road to make as well”.
The Association received 20-thousand dollars from the province earlier this week to continue its work.
The group is also seeking federal funds for completing the trail to New Germany.
