A celebration of books and Nova Scotia publishers in Mahone Bay.
Some prominent writers will display their books and talk about publishing.
Authors include Jan Barkhouse, Vernon Oickle and Nancy Wilcox-Richards.
Publisher John MacIntyre says the industry is a vital part of the community.
“We just want to show and demonstrate how important it is, not only to the economy but to the culture of places like the South Shore.”
The event is part of the ‘Books Start Here’ campaign being organized by the province’s 14 publishers.
Representing 40 full-time jobs in Nova Scotia, publishers are looking to double employment over the next five years.
It starts at 7 p.m Thursday night at the Mahone Bay Centre.
