Queens County Fair Gets New Playground

The playground from the former Milton Centennial School is getting new life at the Queens County fair grounds.

The equipment has been donated by the Region of Queens.

President Elliot Payzant says it will be an exciting change.

“One of the things that we’re trying to do at the fair grounds is to have [them] used for more than just the five days of the fair in September. This will be a place for children to be entertained.”

Payzant says the equipment is from the former Milton Centennial School, which closed in 2013.

A $10,000 grant from ACOA will allow the association to install the equipment and landscape the area.

He says they plan to have the playground in place well before the fair opens near the end of September.
