Queens: Loud Bang Startles Residents, But Nothing To Worry About

A big bang startled some residents last night in Queens County.

The Liverpool Fire Fighters Association ignited a controlled burn of excess wood.

The Region of Queens Municipality issued a statement saying the wood was construction debris intended for firefighting practice .

However, it was a still night and the sound carried far.

The Region and Fire Fighters Association regret any concern it caused residents.

But say there was no danger to the public.
