Queens: New Partnership Launched To Secure Major Events

A new partnership has formed in Queens County.

Events Liverpool, the Region of Queens Municipality and the South Queens Chamber of Commerce are working together to attract at least one significant event in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Events Liverpool Co-Chair, Melissa Robinson, says they’re targeting established sports tournaments, concerts and conferences.

“That’s going to bring multi-night accommodations to the community and a huge economic impact.”

They are hoping to attract events outside of July to September.

Heather Kelly has been hired as major events developer for up to one year.

Queens has built up its resume as a host in recent years including the 2014 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, the RCMP Musical Ride and Skate Canada Starskate Provincials.
