Rake-It-Forward Campaign Aims To Help Seniors

As seasons change and chores pile up, many seniors aren’t able to keep up with the demand.

The Rake-It-Forward campaign is asking people to keep an eye out for neighbours who may need assistance.

Lunenburg County United Way Coordinator Michael Graves says participating is as simple as asking around.

“Look around, if you notice the house across the street or down the road where there’s lots of tree debris, or somebody just got a load of
firewood and you know a senior lives in that particular home, just reach out and say hi.”

He says people should help seniors in their community regardless of season.

The United Way plans to run similar campaigns throughout the year similar to Plow-It-Forward this past Winter.
