‘Tis the season for scams.
Queens District R.C.M.P are reminding residents to be careful of fraudsters.
People posing as Nova Scotia Power workers call and say there are arrears in their account payments, and then aggressively demands payment by cash or credit card.
They say power will be disconnected if a payment isn’t made.
Scammers are also texting saying customers are receiving a refund from Nova Scotia Power.
They provide a fake link to to access the money.
Nova Scotia Power warns customers not to click on the link and stresses they do not communicate with customers about bill payments or credits via text messaging.
