Every three minutes someone in Canada is diagnosed with Cancer.
The Relay for Life continues to raise money, funding research to fight the disease.
This Sunday they’ll kick off their campaign with a team rally at the Bridgwater Fire Hall at 2 p.m.
Jo-ann Mead, District Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society says it’s important the work keeps going.
“Quite simply, cancer isn’t just one disease,” she says. “It’s actually more than 200 diseases. So, in all likelyhood, there’s probably never going to be one cure.”
Teams will take to the track at Kinsmen Field on June 3rd.
Since 1999 the relay has raised more than $500-million.
