Dogs can be leash-free once again.
The South Shore Vet Dog Zone has reopened after regular maintenance was recently completed.
Bridgewater Mayor David Mitchell says it’s routine to close every six months for clean-up.
“Prepping it for winter and looking at what needed to be done because it’s been used all summer and well used,” he says.
“Just kind of getting it ready for what we’ll need to do when the Spring comes.”
It’s not known yet if it will be open over the winter months.
Mitchell says there are no plans to plow the field or its entrance.
Other fields in Bridgewater have set maintenance schedules, but because the park has only been open since July, Mitchell says they haven’t established a routine yet.
