It’s a chance for people to learn more about paddling at no expense.
The Shelburne Kayak Festival is offering four bursaries for this year’s event.
The bursaries will cover the entire cost including all clinics, workshops, guided paddles and social events.
Coordinator Sheila Bird says the idea is about getting new people interested in the activity.
“It’s for people who haven’t had a lot of experience but are certainly interested or may not be able to afford kayaking because it is, sometimes, expensive.”
The bursary program is open to students age 16 and above in Shelburne County and the surrounding area.
The festival is held from August 19-21.
The bursary application can be found here.
