Two solutions were identified to improve the status of abandoned ships plaguing waterways across the country.
Several people voiced their displeasure about the ‘Farley Mowat’ vessel during a meeting in Shelburne.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says it starts with removing that vessel and others across the province.
“And, a long-term solution, which is around closing loop-holes in legislation to prevent something like this from happening, again.”
Mattatall says there could be a possible resolution on the horizon.
She is inquiring to see if the derelict vessel can be disassembled in Liverpool as part of ongoing work at Port Mersey Commerical Park.
