The Canadian Border Services Agency is investigating an abandoned sailboat in Shelburne Harbour.
RCMP and the CBSA began inspecting the vessel earlier this week near the Shelburne Yacht Club.
Police believe the boat has been in the harbour since late September.
Sgt. Ben Parry says it’s suspicious.
“There are very few, very convincing reasons that a person would abandon their large sailboat and not make some arrangements for its care.”
Parry says the vessel entered Canadian waters without declaring their arrival.
He adds, it also appears to have been re-painted.
CBSA is leading the investigation but it would be turned over to RCMP if evidence of criminal activity is found.
